Working With OVERactive Children

Rob Sweeney

Revised in 2005: Two common terms are used when dealing with children with difficult behaviors - hyperactive and overactive - the terms refer to different concepts: hyperactive refers to a disordered condition; overactive refers to a type of behavior. Overactive behaviors are actions of the child which interfere with that child's ability to cope with his environment or get along with others.
